Magic Seaweed

Sometimes when we are out and about, at work, over in Plymouth or even up in the chalet and need to see the state of the tides in the bay, we head to Magic Seaweed for the Whitsand Bay webcam which gives you a visual update of what’s happening at the Treganhawke part of Whitsand Bay. It’s a bit like the windows for Hollister Co (no it definitely isn’t), where the sea at Huntington Beach California is beamed live into the windows creating that ‘only surf dudes shop here’ vibe; except this webcam, as in all things between UK and USA, is a lot smaller, a LOT smaller.

It has everything you need to know, not just a film of the waves rolling in but the weather forecast, the surf swell, the wind, the daylight hours, it’s pretty definitive in it’s all round predictions. I know all surfers check conditions first and it’s just as well  because it’s a hell of a way down the cliff with a surf board, but it’s a hell of a lot more on the way up again.
